Terms & Conditions including Installation Warranty

  1. Introduction

Doors and Glass Limited (“the Company”, “we”, “our”) provides these Terms & Conditions and Installation Warranty (“Warranty”) to the original customer for services provided by Doors and Glass Limited. The Installation Warranty applies exclusively to installations completed by Doors and Glass Limited at the original installation property.

  1. Warranty Period
  • Installation & Labour Warranty: 1 year from the date of installation, unless otherwise stated on the customer’s invoice or contract.
  • Product / Manufacturer Warranties: Any warranty related to doors, hardware, glazing, or accessories is provided by the product manufacturer and is separate from this warranty.
  1. What This Warranty Covers

This Warranty covers installation-related defects only, including:

  • Misalignment, sticking, or operational failure due to incorrect installation.
  • Air or water ingress caused by installation error.
  • Loose hinges, fixings, or hardware resulting from improper fastening during installation.
  • Issues with sealing, silicone, or weatherproofing applied by our technicians.
  • Gaps or poor fitting caused by improper measuring or installation procedures.
  1. What This Warranty Does Not Cover

This Warranty does not cover:

  • Damage caused by misuse, forced entry, impact, neglect, or accidental damage.
  • Wear and tear, cosmetic deterioration, minor scratches, or colour fading.
  • Product defects, including warping, rotting, delamination, faulty glazing units, or hardware failure (covered by manufacturer warranty where applicable).
  • Damage from environmental or external forces, including storms, flooding, fire, subsidence, or building movement.
  • Damage resulting from poor property maintenance, structural defects, or damp/mould issues.
  • Alterations, modifications, or repairs not carried out by Doors and Glass Limited.
  • Issues caused by failure to maintain the door after installation (e.g., lubrication, cleaning, seasonal adjustments, correct painting/staining/decoration)
  • Damage caused by moisture and water ingress caused by incorrect painting / staining
  • Products or installation warranty void if painting / staining hasn’t been carried out prior to installation / immediately upon installation
  1. Customer Responsibilities

To maintain warranty validity, the customer must:

  • Inspect the installation on completion and notify us of immediate concerns within 14 days.
  • Ensure regular maintenance as recommended by the door/hardware manufacturer.
  • Keep the area around the installation accessible for inspection or repairs.
  • Retain proof of purchase and installation documentation.
  1. Filing a Warranty Claim

To make a warranty claim, customers must contact:

Please provide:

  • Installation date and invoice number
  • Description of the issue
  • Photos/videos (if possible)

We will acknowledge the claim within 10 working days and arrange an inspection within 30 working days if required.

  1. Remedies Provided Under This Warranty

If the issue is confirmed to be installation-related by ourselves, Doors and Glass Limited will, at our discretion:

  • Adjust or repair the installation,
  • Reinstall the affected components, or
  • Replace necessary installation materials (excluding products covered under manufacturer warranty).

No monetary refunds or reimbursements are provided under this Warranty.

  1. Limitations of Liability
  • Doors and Glass Limited’s total liability is limited to the original installation cost.
  • We are not liable for consequential, incidental, or indirect damages.
  • This Warranty is valid only for the original purchaser and is non-transferable.
  • This Warranty does not extend to areas or components inaccessible at the time of installation (e.g., behind plasterboard, concealed wiring, hidden structural defects).
  1. When This Warranty Becomes Void

This Warranty will be void if:

  • Any repair, modification, or adjustment is carried out by anyone other than Doors and Glass Limited.
  • The door is removed, relocated, or altered after our installation.
  • Damage results from failure to follow recommended care and maintenance guidelines.
  • Evidence of misuse or intentional damage is found.
  1. Governing Law

This Warranty is governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
Nothing in this Warranty affects the customer’s statutory rights under UK consumer law.

  1. Acceptance of Terms

Use of our services constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions, including Installation Warranty.

  1. Payment Terms
  • Full payment is due according to the invoice unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • A deposit may be required for scheduling. This will be outlined at the time of order.
  • If there is a balance payment outstanding, this is due on completion of works (Same day as installation is completed, unless otherwise agreed).
  • Late payments may incur interest or delay in service.
